Consilience Coaching

Project Overview:

Consilience Coaching is a coaching business created around helping the client excel to another level in their wellness journey. Their wellness journey encompasses such things as, physical movement, mindfulness, intuitive eating and more.

The owner and coach of this business is looking to find how to improve the websites usability as well as gain potential clients.

Intake Analysis:

First, it’s important to understand the client’s website and business. To do so, my group and I spent time looking through the Consilience Coaching website. We analyzed what we saw through an Intake Analysis and individual Heuristic Analysis.

Next, User Testing:

To continue to evaluate any usability issues the website may have, usability tests are necessary to gather further insight.

Before my group got started with our interviews, we created a user script as well as user goals. In short, what we wanted to be able to identify if the site adequately conveys the services offered, ease of purchase as well as understanding of what was purchased, users’ immediate perception of the site.

My group then moved onto the user testing. Interviewing in total 11 individuals using the think aloud method. 4 interviews were conducted as a group. I conducted 4 of the 11 interviews.

Synthesis:

After interviewing all of our users, my team got together and synthesized all of our data:

I feel like there’s a way for both the UX design and the content to make it feel a little more centered on the person who’s getting help and needing help and creating a really good journey to getting that help.

Recommended Changes

  • Including information on main page about what Consilience means will help users relate to the coach and or programs being offered.

  • Changing and updating some of the pictures throughout the website to be of the coach smiling, as well as pictures of the coach with clients will help users feel connected.

  • Updating the content throughout the website to match the title of the page will help users understand what they reading about or purchasing.

  • Having a clear distinction between an ‘About the Coach’ page as well as ‘About Consilience’ page will help users get to know the coach as well as about the company.

  • On the schedule/checkout page, including what package a customer is buying will help users feel confident in what they are purchasing.

Takeaways:

10/11 users that were interviewed have wellness routines and are open and interested in implementing new and fitness routines into their life.

All users enjoyed the images that were on this website, but realized they don’t show the intent of the website.

This was a great first client project. I enjoyed the process of interviewing many users, synthesizing data and creating a report that can help our client implement these changes to see their business grow.
